- Research Deeply: Go beyond the homepage. Look into specific faculty research, unique club opportunities, or recent university news. Mentioning these shows genuine interest.
- Know Your Story: Be ready to articulate your passions, experiences, and goals. Connect them coherently to explain why you and the university are a perfect match.
- Prepare Thoughtful Questions: Prepare 2-3 questions for your interviewer about their experience, the program, or student life. Avoid questions easily found online.
During the Interview
- Master the STAR Method: For behavioral questions ("Tell me about a time when..."), structure your answer: Situation, Task, Action, and Result.
- Body Language Matters: Maintain eye contact, sit upright, and be an engaged listener. Non-verbal cues communicate confidence.
